Swiss Post cooperation with Modum

Modum will deliver an industry-leading, temperature monitoring solution for medical shipments

The Swiss Post and Modum.io Ag announced yesterday (23, April 2018) their cooperation.

Modum will deliver a cutting-edge temperature monitoring solution that will help the Swiss Post monitor medical and other temperature sensitive products.

The two companies have been successfully working on pilot projects since mid 2017. The goal of the cooperation is to integrate Modum’s temperature logging device within the Swiss Post’s track-and-trace system.

This solution will allow the pharmaceutical sector to reliably monitor the temperature of goods and be compliant with the European regulations for the Good Distribution Practice of medicinal products for human use (GDP 2013/C 343/01).

How does it work?

The Modum system is easily integrated into the logistic process. Quality assurance managers can set the approved temperature range for each product remotely using the dashboard.

During shipment, the sensor tracks the temperatures. When the shipment changes ownership the data can be readout using Bluetooth, enabling a compliance check without opening the parcel.
